The One Word Journey {Day 40}

The word for today is PEACE. We all want it...We all need it...but it often seems just out of reach. We could blame satan, we could blame people, but mostly we should blame ourselves. True that satan loves to send and use people to disturb our PEACE but we should blame ourselves because we let them.

John 14:27 says, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."

When we have PEACE our blood pressure is normal. our thoughts are clear and we can be more productive as we go through our day. When we have PEACE we have joy. Finding PEACE and keeping it may mean cutting out a few things...or distancing yourself from some people that interfere with your PEACE.

PEACE is something you can ask for and receive. It is God's will that we have PEACE. Philippians 4:6-7 says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and mind in Christ Jesus.

Tomorrow have a day filled with PEACE.

The One Word Journey {Day 39}

The word for today is PRODUCTIVE. Today I have been very PRODUCTIVE and doing some of the things I have put off for what feels like forever. There are many things that can distract us during our day that will get us off track and cause diversions. We all have things that we put off on a day to day basis either because it is an undesirable task or because we are merely wasting precious time. The days fly by faster than we can imagine and those days turn into weeks, turn into months, and often turn into years. Use your One Word Journey to motivate you to be PRODUCTIVE. God does not condone us being couch potatoes and computer junkies. Not only is it unhealthy, but it is also against Gods principles of being PRODUCTIVE. Think not? Consider the unproductive fig tree that Jesus cursed because it was not producing fruit. (Matthew 21:18-22) and (Mark 11:12-14.) Proverbs 20:4 says “A sluggard does not plow in season; so at harvest time he looks but finds nothing. ”  We are called to be PRODUCTIVE. Learn the right way to live...the Bible way to live...Tomorrow get up and be productive!

One Word Journey

This is the season when many people start reflecting on their life and what they have accomplished in the past year. Most of the time we do not live up to our own expectations, so once again we begin making a list of our resolutions for the upcoming new year.

But what if we did something different for 2012…what if every day we focused on one word…just one, that we would put all our energy into for 24 hours? Each day we write the word on a piece of paper or note card and do exactly what our one word says. The next day write a new word and focus solely on that word. Save these words because many of you may want to reuse your words, while others may have 365 different words you may want to concentrate on in the upcoming year. The choices are yours, but see how much you will accomplish by December 31, 2012

Your words should be something that you really wish to accomplish each day. This doesn’t mean it has to be a task, but it can be. Maybe you want to “Focus” or “Read” or even “Clean.” Of course these words our vague but you yourself know exactly what it is you what to clean or what you wish to read, and on what and where you need to focus.
I invite you to take the One Word Journey with me and see how much you accomplish. Because many of us may have the word “Procrastination” on our word list, why not start today and in the next two weeks we will have not only conquered one of our biggest hindrances, but we will also have completed or recycled 15 other words.

Each day I will try and post my own special one word and will tell you how my day went with that word. All the best to you as you take your own One Word Journey.

(Of course although this was written 2 weeks before the new year, I procrastinated…not with posting my words, but with posting this original post…good thing I posted the abbreviated version of this post on FaceBook…smiles)
