One Word Journey

This is the season when many people start reflecting on their life and what they have accomplished in the past year. Most of the time we do not live up to our own expectations, so once again we begin making a list of our resolutions for the upcoming new year.

But what if we did something different for 2012…what if every day we focused on one word…just one, that we would put all our energy into for 24 hours? Each day we write the word on a piece of paper or note card and do exactly what our one word says. The next day write a new word and focus solely on that word. Save these words because many of you may want to reuse your words, while others may have 365 different words you may want to concentrate on in the upcoming year. The choices are yours, but see how much you will accomplish by December 31, 2012

Your words should be something that you really wish to accomplish each day. This doesn’t mean it has to be a task, but it can be. Maybe you want to “Focus” or “Read” or even “Clean.” Of course these words our vague but you yourself know exactly what it is you what to clean or what you wish to read, and on what and where you need to focus.
I invite you to take the One Word Journey with me and see how much you accomplish. Because many of us may have the word “Procrastination” on our word list, why not start today and in the next two weeks we will have not only conquered one of our biggest hindrances, but we will also have completed or recycled 15 other words.

Each day I will try and post my own special one word and will tell you how my day went with that word. All the best to you as you take your own One Word Journey.

(Of course although this was written 2 weeks before the new year, I procrastinated…not with posting my words, but with posting this original post…good thing I posted the abbreviated version of this post on FaceBook…smiles)
